As Customs and Export Control Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. export laws at our Mirabel, Quebec site. This key role requires in-depth knowledge of regulations, such as Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and those of the United States. You will work closely with our internal teams (operations, logistics, legal, customer service) to ensure compliant and secure export processes.

Your tasks :

Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. standards (CGP, ITAR, EAR).
License management: Apply for, manage and renew export licenses in a timely manner.
Classification and documentation: Classify products and maintain accurate documentation of controlled items.
Continuous improvement: Carry out audits and implement actions to improve our processes.
Training: Train internal teams on regulations and best practices.
Risk management: Identify and reduce risks associated with controlled exports.
Liaison and reporting: Liaise with external regulators and internal teams for audits and investigations.
Transaction monitoring: Review transactions, verify compliance and parties involved.
Record keeping: Ensure accurate record keeping in accordance with legal requirements.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in international trade, law, logistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 3 years in export compliance or related field, with specific experience in Canadian and U.S. export regulations.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. ITAR and EAR. Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) requirements is an asset.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills. Ability to interpret complex regulatory language and apply it in a practical manner.
- Certifications: Certification in export compliance or customs procedures (e.g., Certified Export Specialist, Customs Broker) preferred.
