Background: Flemingdon Health Centre (FHC) is an engaged and involved member of some of Toronto’s most dynamic neighborhoods; Flemingdon Park, Fairview and Thorncliffe Park. FHC is a registered charity and an incorporated not-for-profit Community Health Centre (CHC), with a vision of Strong Healthy Communities. Across our three sites, we provide a range of health-related services based on the social determinants of health with extensive community engagement.
Position Summary:
At Flemingdon Health Centre (FHC), we are excited to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program, offering meaningful paid summer job opportunities for youth to gain valuable work experience in the healthcare and community services sector.
As a Canada Summer Student, you will support a variety of projects and day-to-day operations across several teams. These roles offer students hands-on exposure to real-world tasks in a collaborative, professional, and community-focused environment. This summer, we are hiring for the following departments:
Summer Job Opportunities at FHC
- Population Health & Wellness Team (Youth Violence Prevention Program)
- Support youth engagement and violence prevention initiatives
- Assist with program coordination, workshops, and outreach efforts
- Health Access Thorncliffe Park (HATP)
- Support community health programming and client services
- Assist with organizing events, workshops, and communications
- Primary Care Team
- Provide clinical and administrative support
- Assist with data entry, educational materials, and patient coordination
- Chronic Disease & Mental Health (CD&MH) Team
- Assist with program delivery and communications for health initiatives
- Share administrative responsibilities and support various health programs

Skills & Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in social services, health, administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team setting
- Respectful, adaptable, and compassionate approach to working with diverse communities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Eligibility – Canada Summer Jobs Criteria:
- Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have official refugee status in Canada
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- International students are not eligible
