Fort McMurray Christian School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Grade 3 Classroom Teacher.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Education

Have demonstrated leadership at the school and division levels.

Have experience teaching elementary.

Have a strong knowledge of the curriculum at the Elementary level.

Have an ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans.

Have demonstrated the ability to create a classroom characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction.

Is aware and supports the Fort McMurray Christian School’s vision document and mission statement.

To work with colleagues to integrate a Christian worldview in an alternative program.

Ability to integrate Christian faith and learning.

Possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills.

Have demonstrated support for the FMPSD Education Plan Priorities.

Have proven themselves to be a team player and a positive staff member.

Have training in TFT (Teaching for Transformation) OR be willing to participate in training provided

Be open to new programs and initiatives.

Be a reflective practitioner.

Recognize the importance of making a strong, positive connection with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom. (ie. clubs and teams)

Be willing to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.

Recognize the importance of promoting the school with parents and in the community.

Have skill in involving parents/caregivers as partners (parental involvement)

Possess an ability to create an effective team with educational assistants, parents and multidisciplinary professionals.

Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth.
