As a Business Systems Analyst you will provide deep technical skills, healthcare integration experience, and strategic business partnership capabilities. They will design and build robust integrations leveraging leading technologies to connect disparate systems and data sources seamlessly.

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable integration flows that move data seamlessly between systems. Ensure high quality data integrity.
  • Develop reusable integration components, services, APIs, and orchestration processes. Promote integration best practices.
  • Work with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements. Align integrations with business goals.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts and proposals to senior leadership and key business partners.
  • Create business cases, cost justifications, and risk assessments for integration initiatives and technology investments.
  • Collaborate with vendor and IT teams to evaluate solutions and drive strategic roadmap decisions.
  • Leverage cloud integration platforms and technologies to build adaptable and scalable interfaces.
  • Apply strong knowledge of integration styles (P2P, ESB, Hub & Spoke) and healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, EDI).
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory and data privacy requirements.

Are you motivated to join us? We will be looking for you to have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related.
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in a technical role, software development role, or project management role.

An asset to this role would be:

  • Familiarity project management best practise and artifacts.
  • Knowledge of integration styles (P2P, ESB, Hub & Spoke) and healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, EDI).
  • Familiarity with designing and building integration flows (components, services, APIs, and orchestration processes).
  • Working experience in writing briefing notes and business cases.
  • Familiarity with integration technology such as Microsoft BizTalk.
  • Knowledge of security, regulatory and data privacy best practices.
  • Working experience of RESTful API, Web Services, IIS, and Certificates.
  • Familiarity with cloud integration platforms and technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and Networking in a highly secured environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

The Analyst, Business Systems provides support to an assigned portfolio in the areas of knowledge management, decision support and in corporate business areas by interpreting business strategies and objectives that support the selection, procurement and implementation of appropriate information systems applications. Analyzes business process reengineering concepts and methods and provides documentation of business requirements on information management projects. Provides analyst support for all phases of assigned systems development and implementation projects including providing hands-on application support. May lead small information systems projects.
Responsibilities


  1. Provides systems analysis by participating in the establishment of system scope and objectives, conducting feasibility studies, planning or modifying procedures to solve system problems, and preparing detailed specifications for development work.  Solves existing systems logic difficulties as required. 
  2. Provides business analysis by performing functions such as work flow analysis, developing business information requirements and models, assisting in defining business scope and objectives, planning, designing, or modifying practical manual and automated business procedures.
  3. Participates in strategic planning support and change management services by assisting the Manager, Senior Consultant or Consultant on projects that include confidential initiatives that may result in the loss of FTEs and that support the selection, procurement and implementation of appropriate information systems applications;  conducts feasibility studies, workload efficiency analysis using formal data gathering techniques; identifies system deficiencies, user department operational inefficiencies and ways of improving business efficiency functions.   
  4. Under the direction of the Senior Consultant or the Consultant, participates in information systems projects by providing business systems analysis support.  May lead small projects.
  5. Provides third level application support and ensures that the application service level agreement is maintained and meets business expectations and Information Management capabilities. 
  6. Serves on a variety of Fraser Health wide health service delivery area and departmental committees, task groups, internal working teams and corporate projects. 
  7. Maintains knowledge of infrastructure and technologies by remaining aware of current and new technologies. 
  8. Performs other related duties as required. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Science or Computer Science with two (2) to four (4) years' experience with business and systems analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
