Description
The Emergency Department at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) is seeking 10 part time and/or full time Emergency Physicians to join our group.
Our group of physicians is a mix of new graduates and highly experienced physicians, with both CCFP (EM) and FRCPC (EM) training. We are a well-supported and close-knit group that also maintains great relationships with consultants. We frequently have social gatherings outside of work to strengthen our bond as a team and provide each other with support. Being the busiest emergency department in Western Canada, we have the privilege of serving a diverse population. We have been able to focus on the flow of our department to maximize efficiency and prioritize patient safety despite having a high volume of visits daily.
The schedule is flexible and accommodating to maternity/paternity leaves and vacations. There are opportunities for research, leadership, and teaching. On shift, you can expect to have medical students, junior residents, or emergency medicine residents. The Surrey CCFP (EM) program is growing with a recent increase from 2 to 5 residents! We are making active efforts on increasing the diversity of our site by employing EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusivity) principles for hiring.
Located about 35-45 minutes outside of Vancouver, you have exposure to the outdoors as well as multicultural population, cuisines, and cultural experiences.
