Job Summary

Our hospital and community-based services are delivered by a team of 48,000+ staff, medical staff and volunteers dedicated to serving our patients, families and communities.

 

We are recruiting a Neuro-ophthalmologist to provide support to the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. All consultations will occur at Level 3G JPOCSC for patients referred by fellow neurology or ophthalmology colleagues, transfer of care from other neuro-ophthalmology staff BC wide, GP’s, optometrists and other medical subspecialists from the community, as well as in transfer from all FH ER and inpatient sites.

 

The successful applicant would join an existing group of neurologists and another neuro-ophthalmologist providing neuro-ophthalmic care in consultation services at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre.

 

For this 0.1 position, on call services at SMH and other FHA sites are not expected. Clinic days would be available for half or full day Thursdays, 2-4 days a month.

 

Candidates with a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship completed after an ophthalmology or neurology residency are both welcomed.

 

There are significant opportunities for participating in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education through the University of British Columbia should a clinical appointment with UBC pre-exist or be desired.

 

Qualifications

The candidate must have, or be eligible for, FRCPC registration in Neurology at the time of application and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
