Respirologist-Royal Columbian Hospital and Eagle Ridge Hospital

The Royal Columbian Hospital Respirology group is seeking a full-time Clinical Respirologist to join our team. We provide inpatient consultant services at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) within Fraser Health. The successful candidate will become part of our Respirology practice and will deliver services based on the clinical group's needs. Responsibilities include inpatient coverage, managing an outpatient practice, interpreting diagnostic tests, and participating in educational activities. Coverage will be required at both RCH and ERH, and the role includes full participation in on-call duties. This position offers a broad scope of practice in respirology, including bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, rapid access clinics, and indwelling pleural catheter insertions.

The candidate will also have opportunities to engage in teaching in General Medicine and Respiratory and will be expected to provide clinical leadership in at least one program area.

The role is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025. 

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of the Royal College Examination in Internal Medicine and the Respirology Exam is required.
• Physicians completing their Respirology fellowship in June 2025 are eligible to apply; however, the offer will be contingent upon passing the Respirology exam in 2025.
• Candidates must demonstrate substantial clinical experience across all areas of respirology and be proficient in essential procedural skills, such as bronchoscopy and pleural procedures.
• Training in or willingness to train in Interventional Pulmonology is preferred.
