Job Description

 

VISION PLANNING

  • Participate in monthly meetings with Provincial Health Services BC to discuss expansion of services to meet Tier 6 status at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
  • Participate in overcapacity and diversion meetings to navigate challenges of rapid population growth and need for frequent diversion.
  • Engage in consultation with infrastructural design and service delivery contractors for future planning at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
  • Work in conjunction with the local department head to establish and deliver novel services in obstetrics and gynecology at Surrey Memorial Hospital as detailed below.

OBSTETRICS

  • Service delivery and operationalization of novel programs on FBU including Associate Physicians, Family and Babies Program, and Fetal Diagnostics Services.
  • Establishing novel regional and local services including Breech Vaginal Delivery and In hospital Maternity Outreach Services
  • FBU OR Planning - efficiency and expansion.
  • Establishment and implementation of a simulation program for multidisciplinary education on obstetrical emergencies.

 

 GYNECOLOGY

  • Expansion of GYN Out of OR Procedural Sedation Program to decant cases from Main OR to Ambulator OR
    • Service planning to include urogynecology, early pregnancy assessment clinic.
    • Expansion from 1 day per week to 2 days per week.
  • Reorganization of surgical instrument sets at SMH and JP sites.
  • Expansion of surgical instrument sets to meet the needs of a growing patient population and case complexity.
  • Introduction of Radiofrequency Fibroid Ablation Procedure (Acessa) in Fraser Health.
  • Expansion of existing services including chronic pelvic pain and early pregnancy assessment clinic.
  • Establishing novel regional services including Pediatric gynecology, Complex contraception, and Robotic Surgery.
