Role Summary

The Golf Course Maintenance Attendant’s job duties include a variety of tasks that facilitate the daily maintenance and conditioning of the golf course in preparation for members and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous walking for extended periods of time hand mowing greens
  • Operation of various golf maintenance equipment for mowing tees, greens, fairways, rough
  • Operation of light duty utility vehicles to perform all duties
  • Operation of small equipment such as line trimmers, backpack blowers and push mowers
  • Maintain sand bunkers with hand tools, such as rakes and shovels and weeding as necessary
  • Accountable for using a variety of hand tools to dig and repair irrigation and drainage lines
  • Apply soil and sand mix for the repair of divots on the golf course
  • Daily debris and garbage collection throughout the golf course
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous landscaping experience
  • Golf course experience an asset but not necessary
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work outdoors and endure temperature extremes from high heat and humidity to cold and rainy and will encounter other varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
  • May encounter obnoxious smell from wastewater, gasoline, and diesel fuels
  • May encounter hazardous materials, substances, and chemicals
  • May encounter excessive noise from engines and equipment
  • Work area is located alongside deep water
