Role Summary
The Clubhouse Server will be responsible for providing consistently high levels of customer service to all guests in the Clubhouse and on the course by providing prompt food and beverage service to our guests. This role will perform these duties in a friendly and professional manner always and ensure that patrons have an enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all dishes, glasses, and cutlery are clean for table setting
- Clean designated areas, in accordance with procedures, morning or evening routines and hygiene requirements
- Stock and maintain all cleaning materials
- Clean and refill cruet and condiment sets
- Ensure table decorations are fresh and comply with standards
- Set tables to standards, ensuring all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair
- Ensure sideboards on stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, linen, or other established needs, be they food or equipment
- Ensure tables are cleaned as soon as it is apparent that guests have finished
- Be aware of and practice good guest relations always, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other guests
- Provide golfers with food and beverage cart options at least twice on the front and back nines
- Obtain and assume responsibility of a cash float, reconciling at the end of each shift
- Ensure fuel and fluid levels on cart are checked prior to use
- Follow all safe work practices and checklists, including opening and closing inventories, obtaining food, ice, beverages, and sundries
- Complete daily beer fridge stock
- Stock and maintain cart with food, ice, beverages, sundries, and emergency supplies
- Reconcile inventory at the end of each shift
- Clean and store cart according to procedures
- Provide a high level of service to the members, by practicing member recognition and prompt service
- May assist in light food preparation
- Remove waste and recycling for proper disposal
- Assist with putting beverage and confectionary orders away into the right storeroom
- Can assist with other F&B outlets whenever necessary
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting using the guests’ names when possible
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least one year of related work experience in a food and beverage environment
- Smart Serve certification
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Prior cash handling experience
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be extremely responsible with integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
