The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for casual Educational Assistants.
Casuals are called in as required when a permanent employee is absent.
Individuals work flexible assignments to support the operational needs of schools in various locations throughout our division.
These individuals ensure the students "come first" and have the support they need to create a positive, friendly and safe learning environment.
The duties of an Educational Assistant are to:
Supporting students with special needs to promote student independence and student empowerment.
Working closely with students to meet their learning needs and building strong foundations to create bright futures for all our students as "Students Come First".
Performing physically demanding work including lifting up to
40 lbs., bending and twisting to perform student transfers, personal needs etc.
Working collaboratively as a team member, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent training/experience with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidates must have patience and compassion and enjoy working with children to create a fun, positive, safe learning environment.
Interviews will be conducted upon application.

Applicants not currently working for GSSD will be required to submit a recent (within the last six months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Board of Education prior to offer of employment.
