Bassano School, located in Bassano Alberta, is seeking applications for a temporary full time Educational Assistant to work with students, to prepare them for the grades ahead. This position requires an applicant who works well under pressure and in energetic environments while upholding the values of the division. This role requires a person who has proven experience and performance that has been rooted in professionalism, patience, kindness, and resiliency, and an understanding of the importance of this role, for our students, colleagues, and community.

• In this role you will have weekends and summers off, and often have extended time off during holiday seasons, as scheduled on the school calendar.
• Grasslands Public Schools, has partnerships with the City of Brooks Recreation Services and Anytime Fitness, to offer discounts at the JBS Canada Centre and Anytime Fitness, on memberships and passes, for Grasslands employees and qualifying family members*
• Early dismissal, for students, on Fridays, to give more flexibility in schedules, for colleagues to meet, collaborate, and learn within working hours.

• support students in instruction as well as with physical, social and behavioral needs;
• encourage positive interactions between students and staff;
• work closely and collaboratively with school staff including, but not limited to, classroom teachers and administration;
• position may include activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary; and
• position may have involvement in student school activities such as swimming or outdoor sports and may require the EA to participate with students.

• Ability to assist with all subject areas for the grade supporting

Education and Certifications:

• High School diploma
• postsecondary training is an asset
