Description
Akifer (subsidiary of UDA inc.) is looking for day laborers to assist its technicians with rehabilitation work on various isolated sites on the Lower North Shore of Quebec.
The work will take place from September 16th to the 28th in the sector of the municipalities of Tête-à-la-Baleine, La Tabatière and Saint-Augustin.
The objective of the work is to recover residual materials and soil present in various navigation aid sites.
Description of the Task
The work will be carried out in isolated areas, for the duration of 12 to 14 consecutive days, working 9 to 12 hours a day. Daily transportation of workers will be provided by helicopter from La Romaine or Harrington Harbour.
We are looking for people with good physical fitness, resistance to outdoor work in all types of temperature and weather conditions, as well as ability to work in a team. More specifically, the day laborer must:
- Support the Akifer technicians in the rehabiliation operations;
- Excavate the affected soils with manual tools and bagging them;
- Manually collecting debris present on the sites and bagging them
Work Period and Conditions
- The work is scheduled continuously from September 16th to the 28th, for 9 to 12 hour days. The work day will be canceled if weather conditions do not allow flying to the site;
- Meals are provided for work days and accommodation is also included outside the municipality of residence;
- The employee must be equipped with steel-toed work boots and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Other safety equipment (high visibility clothing, glasses, gloves, hard hat) can be provided by Akifer.
