Supply Library Technicians

Salary: $23.25 per hour + 4% vacation pay

Location: Schools within the Halton District School Board

(Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown, Acton)

Work Schedule: 12 months/year - as required

Effective Date: As Soon As Possible

Position Summary:

Supply library technician staff work on an “as needed” basis, filling in for staff who are away or on leave, and vacancies within our elementary and/or secondary schools or the administrative Board offices.

Qualifications:

Supply Library Technician positions require a Library and Information Technician Diploma from a post-secondary institution plus related experience (or working towards)

Also required are:

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills

Outstanding communication skills

Expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. word processing, email, spreadsheet, and internet applications, including Google Suite)

Knowledge of standard library techniques (e.g. use of digital library resources, Dewey classification, readers advisory, resource repair)

Other assets for the job include:
