Reporting directly to the Director of the Emergency Program at Halton Healthcare, the GH Emergency Department (ED) Patient Care Manager (PCM) works in collaboration with the ED leadership team; the Emergency Program Medical Director and Physician Site Lead, ED Professional Practice Clinician, and Clinical Resource Nurse(s) to implement clinical program priorities, oversee the daily operations, and professional practice of the Emergency Department and a number of ambulatory clinics with potential for an expanded portfolio in the future. The Ambulatory clinic offers a comprehensive range of services aligning with early discharge and emergency diversion including fracture clinic, post-discharge care, infusion treatments, and minor surgical procedures, ensuring seamless care for patients across multiple specialties.
The PCM is an inspiring leader who creates a work environment that promotes collaborative teamwork and an exemplary patient and family experience. She/he is responsible for overseeing daily operations and safe, quality of care for the Emergency Department. This includes planning, implementing and evaluating activities related to the provision of high-quality patient & family centered care services and programs; selecting, hiring and developing staff; working collaboratively with the ED team; and maintaining fiscal accountability.
The ED PCM is instrumental in leading and supporting the growth and maintenance of relationships with internal, cross-site and external stakeholders, collaborating with inpatient and support service managers to identify and collaboratively develop process improvement strategies with a goal of system optimization. This role is critical in supporting partnerships with EMS, Police and other community partners, and the MH-LHIN.

- Bachelor of Nursing Degree
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Masters prepared or evidence of substantial completion preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership in a similar hospital environment
- Emergency Department clinical experience preferred
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent human resource management skills including recruitment and retention of staff
- Excellent budgeting and financial management skills including a demonstrated ability to forecast plan and monitor the operating and capital equipment budget.

- Superior verbal and written communication skills

Hours: Monday to Friday, days; plus on-call nursing administration rotation (subject to change based on operational requirements)
Salary: $56.369 - $70.462 per hour
