Job Description

As a team member of the Neurology/Nephrology Inpatient Medical team, this role is accountable for providing optimal care for patients with complex renal and stroke issues including end-stage renal disease, peritoneal dialysis, acute stroke and TIAs.

This dynamic 36 bed unit is built with a diverse multidisciplinary team dedicated to meeting the needs of patients and their families.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification required at time of hire.
  • Current acute inpatient medicine experience required.
  • Telemetry Certified.
  • Peritoneal Dialysis Certified.
  • Experience working in a neurology or nephrology environment preferred
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
  • Preference will be given to those skilled in Central Lines, TPN, Chronic Ventilation and Phlebotomy.
  • GPA Certified would be an asset.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong public relations and organizational skills.
  • Caring attitude with patients, families and co-workers.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centred care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating 12 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $39.07 - $56.00 per hour
