As a member of the Developmental Pediatric & Rehabilitation team, the Business Clerk provides clerical and scheduling, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care, including physicians. Additional responsibilities may involve support to our intake/registration office and reception areas, and ordering/purchasing, as required. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks.


Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years experience as Business Clerk in a pediatric outpatient tertiary care setting.
2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program .
3. Proven efficiency in using Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling, MS Word, MS Excel.
4. Keyboarding minimum of 40 wpm.
5. Demonstrated excellence in telephone communication skills in a fast paced clinic environment.
6. Mathematical skills related to clinic statistics, payroll and scheduling.
7. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly.
9. Demonstrated ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively.
10. Demonstrated ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position.
11. Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending.
12. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process.
13. Fluency in French will be considered an asset.
14. Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS).
