Description
The Ambulatory Manager will share managerial accountability for the Urgent and Ambulatory Care Program with the existing Manager and leadership team. Specific areas of accountability will include: Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic, ALS & Neuropathy Clinic, Plastics Ambulatory Clinic, Self-Management Clinic, Special Immunology Services Clinic, and Urgent Care Clinic. Additional areas of accountability may be identified through the development of the corporate Ambulatory Clinical Services Vision.
The Clinical Manager functions according to the Accountability Statement for Clinical Managers. Specific responsibilities include managing the day-to-day issues related to staffing and care delivery while facilitating the development of leadership skills in staff and facilitating the development of the interdisciplinary care team which is integral to the Program. Participating in the preparation of the annual operational and capital budgets for the Program and monitoring monthly financial statements. Promoting an environment which supports clinical excellence, continuous learning and measurement and evaluation. Ensuring that front line staff have the facilities, equipment and resources necessary for the day-today functions and activities of the Program. Ensuring patients and families are integrated into unit planning and assisting with the development and design of new ambulatory care models.
- Baccalaureate degree in one of the Health Disciplines
- Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant experience in Ambulatory Care Setting preferred
- Previous community, acute care and emergent/urgent experience preferred
- Skill and demonstrated experience in Quality Improvement
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the delivery of patient care services
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, organization, team building, and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the provision of patient focused care
- Knowledge of the roles of the interdisciplinary health care team and
- Ability and knowledge to access hospital resources
- Demonstrated excellence in the ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and learning for self and others
