Description
To coordinate, supervise, oversee and ensure accurate design, implementation and maintenance of study databases in accordance with study specifications, good database design standards and organizational practices and procedures that support the accurate analysis of study data essential to meet the scientific goals and research at PHRI.
Job Accountabilities include:
1. Implement eCRF and/or edit check design and ad-hoc programming to support study
requirements and ensure accurate data collection.
2. Research, implement, maintain and share leading edge, sophisticated biometric systems to facilitate data management methodology and processes that will ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data collected.
3. Prepare and validate listings and reports using clinical reporting and business intelligence tools to support the conduct of the study and the quality of the data.
4. Prepare and validate accurate data sets for statistical reporting and analysis.
5. Prepare and validate secure data transfers of clinical data to internal and external parties.
6. Define, prepare and execute test specifications for validation purposes.
7. Test system specifications and updates.
8. Comply with good database design and programming standards as well as all organizational procedures.
9. Develop and maintain data management and programming documentation following organizational procedures.
10. Review departmental procedures and practices and provide expertise for departmental procedures that are compliant with appropriate database design, implementation and programming guidelines and standards (e.g. SOPs, work instructions, etc.).
11. Assist in the design of study data management plans, study protocols and case report forms for implications that will affect the eCRF and/or edit check design and implementation.
12. Maintain working knowledge of internal systems to generate project work.
13. Provide recommendations and assist in the validation of new internal systems or upgrades.
14. Supervise and provide design and programming advice to staff.
15. Provide advice, recommendations and supervision of programming plans for database requirements to project staff to ensure compliance with data quality standards and effectiveness of data management and reporting tools.
16. Manage and lead multiple concurrent projects.
17. Coordinate multiple projects and staff (within and external to the department) and provide appropriate planning, overview and timelines for these projects.
18. Other duties as assigned
1. Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
2. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a health related biometric and/or data management field.
3. Provide recommendations and assist in the validation of new internal systems or upgrades.
4. Supervise and provide design and programming advice to staff.
5. Provide advice, recommendations and supervision of programming plans for database requirements to project staff to ensure compliance with data quality standards and effectiveness of data management and reporting tools.
