Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the implementation of quality methods and protocol in accordance with ADS standards as well as AASHTO, ASTM, CSA, BNQ and customer requirements. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for developing a positive, quality-oriented culture and successfully supporting operations in all aspects of quality.

Job responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all team members while following safety protocols.
  • Communicate with corporate quality lab, other plants and resource personnel on quality related issues.
  • Conduct product quality inspections and take corrective action.
  • Maintain scheduling and calibration of quality measuring instruments.
  • Implement and maintain corporate, AASHTO, CSA, BNQ and ASTM quality standards.
  • Ensure, audit, train and enforce compliance.
  • Generate letters of certification and compliance as required.
  • Ensure proper product handling by all employees (i.e. no damage, proper storage, etc.) and report, track and provide solutions and implementation support for identified issues.
  • Participate in new employee orientation regarding quality training and education.
  • Support other ADS sites as required.

Requested skills

Job Requirements:
- College diploma or relevant experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing and/or quality assurance environment.
- Bilingual (must communicate in English on a regular basis with other plants).
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and practices.
- Excellent physical condition (moving, standing, crouching, lifting, etc.).
- Forklift driving experience (an asset).
- Knowledge of plastilurgy and/or mettalurgy and/or extrusion (an asset).
- Knowledge of local safety rules, regulations and protocols.
- Ability to coach and train teams.
