Job Description: Working collaboratively with managers to develop a positive, safe and cohesive atmosphere within workplace. Supports program development, evaluation and collection of data to inform program development. Establish positive relationships with other community organizations and services, providing leadership role.

Experience

• Two (2) years of experience as an Addictions Counsellor

Education

• Bachelor of Chemical Dependency

Other Education and Training

• Completed social sciences or human services discipline acceptable to employer
• Experience in program development and evaluation is an asset

Licenses

• Valid Class 5 driver's license

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge in principles for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Services for Saskatchewan
• Knowledge in 12 core functions of chemical dependency counsellors
• Ability to complete case management assessments, follow-up and treatment
• Knowledge in individual, family, group, and crisis counselling methods
• Knowledge in education and program development, implementation and evaluation
• Ability to deal with life threatening situations including suicide
• Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
