Primary Focus:
The Auditor is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and conduct of assigned operational, financial, compliance and information systems audits to provide reasonable assurance that internal controls are adequate and Saskatchewan Health Authority assets are safeguarded as well as effectively and efficiently utilized. Corrective action will be recommended to management in a report at the end of each audit.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working towards or achievement of a professional designation in a related field.
- Possession of, or the willingness to obtain a professional auditing designation (CIA, CISA) would be considered an asset.
Experience:
- Three years of experience in auditing or information technology functions representing continuous learning in a relevant field.
- Previous health sector experience is an asset.
- Experience dealing with a variety of material and clients.
- Investigation experience is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, Canadian public sector accounting standards, and Canadian generally accepted auditing standards.
- Has the ability to apply auditing techniques, approaches, methods and practices.
- Strong communication/listening and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and an inquisitive mindset.
- Ability to work independently, work under pressure and meet deadlines in an environment subject to changing priorities.
- Demonstration of IT audit capabilities is an asset.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and auditing software including automated working papers and data analysis programs.
