Santa Maria Senior Citizens’ Home has an opening for a Permanent Full-time Co-Director of Spiritual Care & Mission Effectiveness. We are a care home for 147 residents who require Level 3 - 4 long-term, nursing and personal care. Guided by the healing ministry of Jesus, we build upon the legacy of our founding religious sisters and work with compassion, innovation, and commitment to meet resident needs with quality, compassionate and holistic care. Santa Maria is an Emmanuel Health organization.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Co-Director of Spiritual Care and Mission Effectiveness provides spiritual support to residents, family members and staff. They develop and implement a mission effectiveness plan, which assures effective communication, education, celebration, and evaluation of mission and values integration.
Qualifications/Experience:
- The successful applicants will:
- have the ability to listen, counsel, and be present in a multi-faith, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary setting
- have or be willing to complete a minimum of three units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- have or be willing to seek advanced training to achieve CASC/ACSS professional certification
- have a Master of Theology or related studies from an accredited institution
- have leadership experience in mission integration to ensure that the core values of our home are alive and visible through Mission Effectiveness, daily operations and special events
- bring endorsement by a recognized faith group
- Preference given to candidates who:
- have experience in recruiting, developing/mentoring and coordinating the work of spiritual care volunteers
- have experience in a long-term care setting and the ability to provide spiritual care to residents, including those living with dementia
- have a record of achievement as a collaborative leader, community and team builder and possess a high degree of interpersonal sensitivity and communication skills
- have appropriate spiritual and other leadership qualities they can bring to contemporary, Catholic, not-for-profit organizations
- have a deep knowledge and understanding of Catholic health care history, principles, tradition and a thorough knowledge of the Health Ethics Guide
Salary or Pay Band: Santa Maria Senior Citizens’ Home offers a competitive salary and benefits package. We are a member of SHEPP and 3SHealth extended benefits
