Job Description

Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation is seeking a dynamic motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the full time, permanent position of Community Health Nurse.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and eligible for registration with CRNS.
  • Recent community health and/or public health nursing experience of at least 1 to 3 years.
  • Other relevant experience and certifications in northern nursing and First Nations health care is an asset.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple demands and work independently within a multidisciplinary health team.
  • Knowledgeable and sensitive to First Nations’ culture and beliefs; issues and barriers.
  • Ability to fluently speak and understand Cree is considered a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in computer software/hardware applications and programs.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence

    Other Remuneration cost:

  • Annual Education Allowance
  • Annual Retention Allowance
  • 1 Time - Signing Bonus after completing 3-month probation
  • Annual Health Related Travel
  • All mandatory certification paid by employer (not part of education allowance)
  • Yearly RN licensure paid by employer
  • Wages are competitive & follow the Meadow Lake Tribal Council pay scale
