Job Description: The Nursing Unit Manager - Inpatient Surgery is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care on the Inpatient Surgical Unit. The Nursing Unit Manager- Inpatient Surgery is accountable for the efficient and effective use of the units human and material resources in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and policies of the Inpatient Surgery Unit, the facility and the health district. The Nursing Unit Manager Inpatient Surgery is accountable for developing and nurturing a multi-disciplinary patient care environment which respects the expertise and strengths of many disciplines. Effective leadership, decision-making and conflict resolution are required to ensure effective use of available patient care resources. Consultation with the Chiefs of Surgery and Anesthesia is a key priority for the Nursing Unit Manager.

Experience
- Five (5)+ years experience in healthcare leadership preferred
- Experience in leadership
Education
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing or other allied health profession
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
