Job Description: Under the direction of the Transition Lead, Clinical Performance and System Improvement, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the Saskatchewan Health Authority Health Services models of care and principles of adult learning, in the provision of education, research, and quality client centered care for a defined group of clients. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care through identified education programming. In collaboration with the CNE Supervisor, the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to Care Staff and other Support Staff in long term care facilities, community hospitals, integrated care facilities, and the Alternate Level of Care Unit in the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge needs in the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certificate (BCLS)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Safety legislation (Occupational Health & Safety & Evidence Act)  
  • Knowledge in critical thinking processes
