Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of the Health Authority through the provision of safe quality nursing care to clients.  The Clinical Resource Nurse educates, mentors and supports unit staff, promotes patient safety, occupational health and safety and quality improvement on the unit.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Education

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.  Requires, or in progress towards, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university.  Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).  Requires current BCLS certification.  Other specialty certifications related to the clinical program area as required.

Experience

• Requires a minimum of five (5) years recent nursing experience related to the clinical program area.  Previous leadership experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understands principles of adult education.  Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrates initiative, self-direction, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in an integrated multidisciplinary team.  The ability to facilitate teamwork is essential.  Strong leadership skills are essential.
