Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Clinical Integration, Primary Health Care, the Nurse Clinician will work in collaboration with the Medical Health Officer, Network Supervisors, Primary Health Care services, leadership and staff. The Nurse Clinician is an expert clinical nurse in the specialty of Public Health. In collaboration with Primary Health Care Managers, Supervisors/leads and Primary Health Care Network Supervisors, the Nurse Clinician is responsible for staff orientation, certification, continuing education, keeping the Public Health Nurse Orientation program updated, developing clinical pathways for practice in Immunization, Family-Child and School age areas, and participating in development of policies and procedures relating to Immunization, Family-Child and School practice. The incumbent will participate in program planning and evaluation. Responsibilities may include assisting with clinical program development for Travel Health and Communicable Disease as needed.

Experience
- Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
- Experience in program development
- Five (5) years Public Health Nursing Experience
Education
- Course credits in community health and public health nursing are required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of the community's health and social resources.
- Knowledge in nursing process and principles of adult learning
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- knowledge of public health nursing in a generalized and focused practice role
- Identifies the importance of culture on health.
- Knowledge in population and public health concepts
- Knowledge of principles/practices of immunization
