Job Description: The incumbent is an expert clinical practitioner who integrates experience, skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning and thrives to make a difference. Our mandate includes increasing public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, education of health care professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective donation and transplant system in Saskatchewan. Working collaboratively with our stakeholders and fostering organizational and individual growth, we value respect for all, collaborative partnerships, compassionate caring, excellence and stewardship. The Deceased Donor Coordinator guides each step of the donation process including donor identification through referral indicators, donor suitability assessment, declaration, approach and consent with families, to the medical donor management optimizing organ and tissue yield for recipient transplantation. After each donation there is family follow-up and support and information transfer with donation and recipient programs.

Experience
- Required to meet orientation needs relating to organ and tissue donation
- 1 year clinical experience in organ/tisssue donation/transplantation
- Critical Care or Emergency Room experience

Other Information
- 5 years experience of highly acute nursing experience may be considered
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Home Base is RGH. Standby required.
