Job Description:
The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) Health Services is a dynamic innovative health organization that provides a range of programs and services to 11 First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory. The FHQTC and its employees are committed to a proactive and holistic approach to health and wellness for our communities and our staff.
The Nurse Practitioner will work as part of the Miko-Mahikan “Red Wolf” Harm Reduction Team to encompass a variety of initiatives that include harm reduction strategies, HIV/HCV, opiate use disorder, and will work within a harm reduction and rights-based philosophy.
Under the direction of the Miko-Mahikan “Red Wolf” Harm Reduction Program Manager, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary care and community health services to clients and their families. The Nurse Practitioner provides outreach services to the communities of the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

Education:
- Graduate of approved school of Nursing
- Master’s degree in nursing.
- Current registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Nurse Practitioners
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, public health, or acute care.
- Exceptional interpersonal and public relations skills
- Ability to work in a team setting and be self-motivated
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work within First Nations Traditional and Spiritual Institutes.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Current CPIC and vulnerable sector check
