Job Description: The Mental Health and Addiction Services Community Outreach Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) reports to the Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Services - Adult Outreach and Targeted Prevention Services. The RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The RN (NP) blends in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and performs specific procedures in management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care and mental and health and addictions care. The RN (NP) will have responsibilities of clinical team building and clinical supervision within a collaborative community nursing model of care.

Experience

  • 2 years FT recent experience as RN working with marginalized populations in MHAS
  • Three (3) full-time years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training
