Job Summary:
The Vascular Lab Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience, working within a framework of evidence-based practices, health promotion, disease, and injury prevention. The advanced practice Nurse Practitioner (NP) blends an in-depth knowledge of vascular nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform specific procedures in the prevention and management of physiological and pathological conditions. Practice involves building partnerships with individuals and families, as well as supporting inter-professional collaboration and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. The NP Provides clinical assessment and treatment strategies that reflect in-depth knowledge of the care of populations. In this setting, vascular assessment is important to supplement advanced clinical skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Experience
- Minimum Two years (2) chronic disease management
- Two years (2) full-time surgical nursing experience
- Five (5) full time years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Two years (2) specific experience in Vascular Surgery
Education
- Master’s degree in nursing/clinical specialization to the practice area
Other Education and Training
- Current CPR certification
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

- Knowledge of Vascular Lab studies
- Advance computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access).
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments.
