Job Description: This position works as part of an interdisciplinary health care team. Under the direction of the Provincial HealthLine 811 Clinical Manager, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to the community. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients in the community both independently and collaboratively with a physician, depending upon the complexity of client needs. This includes health promotion and protection; first line treatment and emergency services; provision of supportive counselling and instruction in management of medical conditions; disease and injury prevention; and collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals.

Experience
- 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Certification in Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or equivalent program required
Knowledge and Abilities
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Demonstrates knowledge of community services, programs, and resources
- Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, organizational & leadership abilities
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments.

- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
