Job Description
Under the direction of Manager, Clinical Systems Pharmacist - Pharmacist D/Degree Senior is committed to the integration of knowledge, skills and abilities in the provision of quality client focused pharmacy services within the Saskatchewan Health Authority Pharmacy Services. The incumbent is a visible campaigner and authoritative resource on clinical pharmacy systems application; is a resource on organizational application of pharmacy automation; works across professional silos, hierarchy and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to enhance the medication use system by applying software or hardware to enhance clinical decision support tools and medication distribution; is involved in the implementation and maintenance of pharmacy specific clinical systems. The Clinical Systems Pharmacist - Pharmacist D/Degree Senior is accountable to maintain pharmacy computer system applications used in SHA. The incumbent is an inter-professional liaison, working with pharmacy staff, nursing, physicians, Digital Health, eHealth, pharmacy automation vendors and other members of the care team. The incumbent may be required to travel within SHA.
Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or entry to practice Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
Experience
- Two (2) years of previous experience in Hospital Pharmacy
Licenses/Memberships
- Registered and Licensed with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals (SCPP) upon commencement date.
- Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board (CPRB) certification from an accredited Pharmacy Residency Program is an asset.
- Membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacy (CSHP) is an asset.
- Membership in the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan (PAS) is an asset
Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership in improving medication use systems by working with pharmacy and other members of health care team

- Ability to provide medication and practice related education/demonstrates and possess knowledge of adult education
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Knowledge of contemporary hospital medication-use systems and pharmacy automated systems.
- Integrates clinical knowledge and experience into activities related to pharmacy information systems and automation.
- Previous experience with automation or pharmacy informatics.
- Articulates knowledge related to clinical pharmacy information systems and pharmacy automation.
- Demonstrates ability to identify, prevent or resolve complex problems in a timely manner, responding to the needs of users.
- Supports other pharmacists and pharmacy learners in a positive manner.
- Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills. Communication with patients, their representatives, and healthcare professionals will be required.

- Knowledge and experience with computer software applications.

Other Information
- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
- This is a multi-site position; home base will be Pasqua Hospital.
