Job Description: The Policy Specialist (Specialist) is directly accountable to the Director of Corporate and Clinical Policy of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and provides policy development expertise to the Director of Corporate and Clinical Policy as well as to all provincial Executive Policy Leads. The Specialist serves as the primary lead for internal and external constituencies, such as the Ministry of Health, on all provincial policy matters and as assigned. Policy expertise and consultation by The Specialist will be provided to all provincial Executive Policy Leads such as Executive Directors and may be assigned to a specific clinical or corporate area as appropriate. This position ensures that processes are in place to develop and implement effective corporate and clinical policy across the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Specialist will work with the Executive Leaders assessing risk related to clinical and corporate policy development and implementation. The Specialist monitors regulatory bodies and identifies gaps in policy bringing them to the attention of the Director Corporate and Clinical Policy and the appropriate provincial Executive Lead. The incumbent works closely, in a collaborative and co-operative manner, with members of the Governance and Policy team to assist in delivering on the corporate and clinical policy framework and strategy. This will require research, analysis, risk assessment and advice on policy development and implementation, briefings and proposals as required. Collaboration, coordination, project management, organization and communication skills are key to this role. The incumbent co-ordinates workflow with other Policy Specialists in the Director Corporate and Clinical Policy Office and may provide policy expertise to the Executive Director of Governance and Policy and other members of the team as needed.

- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Bachelor of Commerce is acceptable
- Bachelor of Administration is acceptable
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
- Bachelor of Health Care Administration is acceptable
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
