Job Description: The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible to ensure consistent application of planning and improvement tools and methodologies throughout their portfolio. The position is expected to maintain strategy and improvement standards as outlined in the Strategic and Quality Framework. The focus of the Specialist is to organize and oversee improvement initiatives by taking a lead role in linking with key stakeholders, developing project teams, determining the scope of projects, establishing target dates, monitoring outcomes and providing regular updates. The Specialist must effectively work with staff, leaders, physicians to integrate best practices and standards. The position varies in scope and influences the success of system-wide improvement and attainment of organizational goals. The Specialist is responsible to facilitate a quality of culture across a large diverse organization and model a rigorous, consistent approach to quality improvement. The Quality Improvement Specialist must be an advocate for staff and patient safety as well as a system sustainability.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years' recognized experience in a complex health care environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline

Licenses:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education & Training:

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Lean improvement training/certification is an asset
