Job Description:
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: The Supervisor of Admitting Reception is responsible for supervising the operations and staff of the admitting/reception area and ensuring accurate and efficient office procedures are maintained. The area is accountable for reception, admissions and directing clients/patients/family to the proper services. This position reports to the Provincial Leader of Supportive Care or Manager of Administrative Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course (OR) Medical Office Assistant certificate.
Experience: One (1) year experience in a supervisory position OR two (2) years experience performing a variety of related administrative functions.
Skills:
Ability to assume responsibility for work over others on a daily basis.
Ability to type proficiently.
Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
Ability to operate a computerized data entry system.
Ability to operate all types of office equipment.
Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
Accuracy of fine motor movements for typing/data entry is required.Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
