Senior HSE Engineer - Install
As a Senior HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for supporting and administering the health, safety, and environment requirements for our Projects business within the various provinces in Canada. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices related to HSE. You will report directly to the Senior HSE Manager - Canada on a hybrid work schedule. The role holder is expected to travel within Canada to Project locations.
In this role, you will impact our organization by overseeing the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations, customer and Honeywell requirements. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review the bid documents and extract the HSE requirements.
- Identify HSE Cost impact items and work with the bid team to incorporate these requirements as needed.
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE programs that align with the customer, regulatory and Honeywell’s requirements.
- Ensure that the various Projects complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, customer, and Honeywell requirements.
- Develop, maintain and implement project specific HSE plans and procedures that meet the regulatory, customer and Honeywell requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing solutions and preventive measures.
- Develop, drill and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
- Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, the Americas HSE team and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.
- Support the project management team to run the HSE contractor management program including vetting, onboarding, reviewing of HSE programs, conducting HSE inspections, audits and meetings and ensuring compliance with the project, Honeywell and regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively as a member of and by leading Key Improvement Projects for HSE in Honeywell as and when needed.
- Act as a trusted business partner for the projects management teams
- Lead HSE Incident investigations as and when required. Coordinate and implement the reporting requirements to meet Customer, Honeywell and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and participate in HSE Meetings for the projects and the business as and when required.
- Represent Honeywell in front of the customer and the regulatory bodies on HSE matters as and when required.
- Run an MOS for HSE improvements at various projects.
- Provide HSE Coverage during leaves of absence of colleagues as and when required.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Bilingual: English and French
- 4+ years of experience in HSE in construction disciplines.
- 4+ years of experience with health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices. Deep knowledge of provincial HSE regulations in Canada (especially Ontario and Quebec)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as necessary for project and business needs
- Full class G drivers license
WE VALUE
- Certification in HSE or a related field is a plus. (CRSP, CSO)
- MS office, Power BI, Intelex, TapRoot (Preferred), and have a high computer proficiency,
- Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
