Our Laboratory Services Department uses state of the art equipment, technology and processes to collect and test clinical specimens in order to obtain information about the health of our patients so that our inter-professional teams can diagnose, treat and prevent disease. 

 

Our Medical Laboratory Technologists assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing tests on tissue, blood and other body fluids.

Hourly Rate: $36.84 - $50.24

Position Responsibilities:

  • Routine Histology to include specimen grossing, microtomy, special stains, Immunohistochemistry, specimen bookings and attending needle biopsies.  
  • Instrument maintenance and quality control.
  • Possible Cytology specimen preparation.
  • Can be assigned /trained in other Laboratory Disciplines

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Current registration as General Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
  • 3-5 years of recent Clinical Pathology experience required 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work  effectively alone or with all team members, including co-workers, physicians and other health care team members.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
