We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Ultrasound Technologist, Breast Imaging to join our Medical Imaging team.

 

Hours of work: Primarily during the day time but must be available to work evening, night and weekend as required (subject to change as per Article 3 - Management Rights)

Employee Group: OPSEU 577 Hourly Rate Range: $36.84 - $51.77

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides safe and quality care to patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
  • Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures in the Breast Imaging department in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures.
  • Assists radiologists/surgeons in image guided procedures
  • Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Complete exam process by image review, completing sonographers impression sheet, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via PACS
  • Participate in ongoing Breast Imaging education

Qualifications:

  • College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Registration in the specialty of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Minimum of two years experience in breast ultrasound required.
  • Breast Ultrasound Certificate ARDMS preferred.
  • Strong documentation skills required.
  • Excellent knowledge of anatomy required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a group environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
