POSITION: MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST
Breast Assessment Centre/Mammography

POSITION SUMMARY: The registered technologist in mammography is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, and demonstrated initiative in the application of mammography.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Medical Imaging

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $33.65 to $45.11 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program
- Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario
- Specialty Certification for Breast Imaging required or proof of current course registration to commitment to achieving CBI in near future

EXPERIENCE:
- Preference given to candidates with previous mammography experience in OBSP

ABILITIES:
- Able to competently perform a wide range of mammographic procedures including: screening (including OBSP) and assessment mammography, intravenous administration, contrast enhanced mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, stereotactic biopsy and pre-operative needle localization procedures.
- Able to exercise courtesy and understanding in dealing with patients, medical personnel, visitors, other staff, and members of other departments
