ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced corporate paralegal to work in a highly regarded law firm. ABOUT THE POSITION

As a corporate paralegal joining the Corporate Services Department, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting approximatley 11 business lawyers on transactional work and also maintaining their corporate minute books (BC, Federal and EPRs) along with all their ongoing corporate governance filings and related matters
• Supporting the lawyers in high level commercial transactions
• High levels of responsibility with regards to direct client contact
• Formation and governance matters relating to corporations (including not for profits) and partnerships
• Assist with preparation of documentation for commercial transactions; changes of ownership or management, M&A, joint ventures, amalgamations and dissolutions
• Due Diligence review of corporate records and preparation of rectification resolutions as well as conducting and reviewing public searches in connection with due diligence matters

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Paralegal Diploma

• Strong written and oral communication

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a corporate/commercial paralegal in a busy firm environment

• Proficiency in MS Office along with intimate knowledge of ALF and BC Online

• Experience with Worldox, Workshare Compare, PC Law is an asset

• Ability to interact professionally with clients and all members of the firm

• Strong organizational skills and time management skills

• Detail-oriented individual with good proofreading skills

• Excellent multi-tasking skills

• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative

• Able to set priorities while maintaining flexibility

• A team player with excellent interpersonal skills

COMPENSATION

• $75,000 - $90,000 (depending on experience)
• 3 weeks vacation along with 7 sick days and 3 personal
