ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is one of the largest development and property management companies in the city. They are a national company with offices all over Canada who deal with both Commercial and Residential portfolios. The company are constantly involved in new developments and are constantly expanding their portfolio.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

In this position you will be overseeing and mentoring Property Managers and Property Administrators. Our client is looking for someone who is innovative, enjoys working in fast-paced environments and will thrive in a dynamic workplace. They are also wanting someone who is adaptable, someone who is a real team player and a hard worker. This is very much a higher level oversight position and you will be running the whole of the commercial property management team and assets.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Your main job duties will include:

  • Oversee a commercial portfolio at a higher level (Office, Retail and Industrial)
  • Oversee and mentor Commercial Property Mangers and Property Administrators
  • Develop strong relationships with your subordinates, tenants, contractors, and vendors
  • Manage and provide direction to staff, which may include, but is not limited to administrators, property managers, and site staff
  • Conduct site visits with property managers and site staff
  • Review financial statements and budgets
  • Manage and help prioritize tenant service requests
  • Review leases, contracts and agreements as required
  • Ensure monthly service contracts are in place and are being completed in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with tenant move-ins and move-outs as required
  • When needed, assist and help manage tenant improvements
  • Assist in obtaining bids and budgeting
  • Manage annual budgeting process for the portfolio

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years experience as a Director or VP of Property Management
  • Has experience leading a team and mentoring staff members
  • Has experience running a whole department at a higher level
  • Someone who is adaptable and can thrive in a fast paced environment

COMPENSATION:

  • $160,000 - $180,000 per year depending on experience
  • 3-4 weeks vacation
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Health and Dental benefits
