Position Summary
If you are a Certified Orthotist, who is driven by helping others, works well under pressure, and seeking a collaborative environment, the Orthotics/Prosthetic Department at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is looking to hire new team members.
KGH’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Department is a full-service department integrated with the Rehabilitation Centre. Working in Acute Care and Outpatients, this position designs and fits orthoses to enable clients to function better and improve their quality of life. It offers a unique Certified Orthotist experience working in a rehabilitation setting within a tertiary hospital setting. The Certified Orthotist consults with interdisciplinary team members, other health care providers and suppliers; promotes orthotic services; and maintains knowledge of current trends and new technology in the field of orthotics. The Certified Orthotist is supported by technical rehab and administrative staff while providing In-Patient and Out-Patient Services.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual positions offer flexibility and yet as a Casual employee you are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with Casual employment. Days of work are Mondays through Fridays with occasional weekends and statutory holidays as required; 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualfications
Completion of recognized Orthotics Program and two years’ recent experience in a rehabilitation health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certification in Orthotics from the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO) and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics (CAPO).
