Position Summary
Clinical Dietitian opportunity at the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in Kelowna, B.C. This is a term specific part-time 0.6fte (22.5 hours per week) position until May 30, 2025. This position works 08:00-16:00 on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. This position is primarily assigned to acute medical and rehabilitation units, and requires Restricted Activities A, B and C.

About the position:
Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition
assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and
education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource
to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.
The Dietitian provides input to the Practice Leader or designate by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program.
The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/client/resident care issues and menu
development.

KGH is a tertiary referral hospital and offers high-level, specialty medical care including 24 hour emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic/paramedical services. Specialty services include adult and adolescent psychiatry, outpatient nutrition, patient care quality officers, and cardiac surgery.
The hospital is situated just moments from Okanagan Lake in the vibrant and growing city of Kelowna. The city offers so much for professionals and families to enjoy such as shopping, dining, golfing, tons of hiking and biking trails, amazing beaches and world-class winter sports. Qualfications
• Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
• Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
• Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) with Restricted Activities A, B and C.
• One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred. New grads are welcome.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.
