About the Job:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights; rotating from 08:00 to 20:00, 20:00 to 08:00 hours.

Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $32.84 to $41.35.

About this location/unit:
BDH: The Boundary Hospital is a very busy level 1 community hospital that has a catchment population of approximately 12,000 residents. The site offers medical, long-term care and emergency services and many community health programs are co-located at the hospital facility, which makes for a very collegial, multi-disciplinary team environment.

Grand Forks is a community of around 4,000 people, considered to be the ‘hub’ of the Boundary Region and conveniently located within a couple of hours driving of two major centers Spokane and Kelowna. Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Acute care experience is considered an asset. Along with a copy of your CV (resume) please provide details regarding your previous acute care experience.
