Position Summary
We are currently seeking a relief full time Life Skills Outreach Worker to join our Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) Youth Intensive Case Management team in Williams Lake, B.C. This relief position is until September 5, 2025 or return of the incumbent.

What will you work on?
The overall purpose of the Intensive Case Management Teams are to improve the health care and outcomes for individuals and families who are impacted by problematic substance use or addiction with, or without, mental illness and are experiencing functional challenges related to community living, including housing and income. This aim achieved by providing intensive community based outreach services by a multi-disciplinary team that includes registered nurses, social workers, life skills supports and a psychiatrist.
The Life Skills Outreach Worker is a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team providing a comprehensive array of services within a psycho social rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders and who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result. This position will provide these services offering a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities inclusive of outreach, community and facility care.
Scheduling Information:
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience:
• Mental Health Worker Certificate or Human Services Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certification
• Two years recent related experience working with individuals living with mental illness, and/or substance use problems/disorders; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
• Basic First Aid Certificate
• Non-violent crisis intervention training
• Current valid BC Driver’s License (Class V)
