About the Job:
As the Long-term Care Attendant (LTCA) you will work as an integral part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, who provide care and support in a long-term care setting. Working under the direction of RN’s and LPN’s, LTCA’s have key responsibilities in the individual care plan for each patient, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are supported, while promoting maximum independence.
Typical duties include:
• Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and related equipment
• Performing nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration
• Housekeeping activities relating to maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and condition
• Accompanying clients on outings and during social activities
• Performing clerical duties and delegated tasks
This is a PERMANENT PART-TIME (0.80 FTE) OPPORTUNITY.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 09:00 to 15:30 Monday to Friday.

The Dr. F.W. Green Home is a 60-bed long-term care facility. Our patient-centered philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible. We currently house all levels of complex care and include 24-hour nursing and personal care, medication supervision and administration, meals, and laundry services. All rooms have private washrooms as well as kitchen and dining areas. We also offer a variety of programs in-house to help engage our residents. These include outings, community activities, exercises, music, and more (transportation for outings is provided by the site bus). On site we have lounges with TVs, public washrooms, recreation areas, laundry facilities, tub/shower rooms, secure areas, an elevator, and a hairdressing room.

Qualfications
• Grade 10
• Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant / Health Care Aide Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker registry (please include your active number)
