Position Summary
We are seeking a Permanent Part Time Medical Device Reprocessing Lead Technician at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC.
Days of work: Rotating, Days, Evenings
Shift times: 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 15:00 to 23:00

What will you work on?
1. Supervises designated staff by performing duties such as:
• Coordinating daily work activities of the staff within the department by establishing work schedules and priorities, assigning tasks, assessing workload priorities and communicating with other staff/departments.
• Maintaining timekeeping/payroll documentation and performing other related duties, such as scheduling for relief staff and arranging vacations in accordance with established procedures.
• Evaluating employee performance, determining related training and orientation requirements and monitoring compliance with Quality Assurance Testing; providing input to the Manager (or designate) as required.
• Providing input into the selection of staff by performing such duties as interviewing applicants and making recommendations for selection.
• Overseeing the setup and maintenance of the OR case cart system by verifying loaner instrument sets/equipment are complete, received, processed and returned; providing related feedback to the Manager (or designate) as required.
2. Maintains operating procedures by updating procedure manuals, and other forms of communication. Makes recommendations to Manager (or designate) regarding changes in work procedures that support and promote the principles of infection control, decontamination, sterilization, and aseptic technique.
3. In accordance with the principles of infection control, decontamination, sterilization, and aseptic technique, and established policies, procedures and safety standards operates processing instruments, equipment and related accessories, and carries out decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization/disinfection duties.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
