Position Summary
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) opportunity now available at the Kootenay Lake Hospital in beautiful Nelson, B.C.! This is a permanent Part-time position. Days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings with participation in overnight on-call required.
About the job:
We offer a generalist MLT position with interesting and varied work within all areas of Core with some phlebotomy. This site does not have acute care beds, but offers laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and doctors’ offices.
Typical duties include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
